A Clever Gift Idea

Cupcake Pin Cushion Sewing Kit

This adorable project from One Dog Woof, Cupcake Pincushion Sewing Kit, popped up in my feed on Facebook the other day. I absolutely loved it. I have so many friends and family members that sew. It is such a great gift idea. I just had to make it! I love quick fun projects once in awhile and I was able to hook up the cupcake while watching a 2 hour movie.
Unfortunately, my canning and pickling days are over as I no longer live were I can grow a garden. I really have no reason to have a mason jar and they usually do not sell the jars out of harvest season in our local stores. However, I did find this small plastic canister at our Dollar Tree. It worked just fine.
I used tacky glue to glue the cherry to the cupcake and the cupcake to the lid. I was a little skeptical the glue would hold, but it did! I let the cherry just sit on top and dry overnight. I used duct tape to hold the lid and cupcake in place while it dried today. Duct tape is not just for men, ya know! I really need to give my daughter credit for the tape part as it was her idea. I guess she felt sorry for me just sitting there holding the cupcake to the lid. Good thing too as it took several hours to dry.

Please pay a visit to ChiWei over at One Dog Woof and tell her how great her design is. I think it is just way too cute! Not only is it a great idea for people that sew, but also as one of my friends mentioned, a great gift idea for those high school graduates heading off to college that will inevitably need a sewing kit. 🙂

I hope you have a fantastic day! Please check back with my blog as I try to add new things daily. ~ Joyce
