I feel honored you have joined with me on my crochet adventures. I would like to tell you a little about myself.
I have been crocheting since I was a young child not much bigger than a toddler. The first things I crocheted were blankets for my baby dolls. I soon graduated to hats and skirts for my Barbie Dolls. In my teen years, I made scarves for my friends and afghans to tuck away in my Hope Chest. In my early twenties after I got married and moved to my own home, I discovered patterns!! Oh! It was wonderful! I had no idea there were such things as my mother would just look at someone else’s crochet piece and make it herself. I just made things up with the stitches I knew and some stitches I made up! The first crochet magazine I ever subscribed to was Crochet World. I taught myself to read the patterns and used the stitch guide in the back to learn what stitches I did not already know. I soon was making sweaters and my very first amigurumi projects for my children. Here I am all these many years later still learning new tricks and techniques.
I’ve recently started writing out my own crochet designs to share. This has been a desire of mine for many years. Now that my nest is just about empty with only a grown daughter at home (sometimes), I am finding I have time to sit and write patterns. This is an exciting experience for me and I am inspired more and more every day.
